My Birthday!

Dear Diary,

Today is my Birthday and my friends wanted to celebrate my Birthday at Ah B cafe.This cafe is located near TurfCity. There is a Dog Swimming Pool too. 

As today is the weekend, there are many owners bringing their dogs for a deep in the pool. Parking there is very limited unless you don't mind parking a little further at the Grandstand and walk towards the cafe. Lucky when i arrived, there was one parking space for me. the cafe was quite packed today but it was fun! the cafe is very spacious and clean. the shop owners are quite particular about the cleaniness which is a good thing. but the attitude towards their customers, i believe there are room for improvement. 

The boys were wearing belly band so to avoid them from marking around. but the shop owners told us to still watch the boys. i find this quite rude as this is a dog cafe. we owners are already responsible enough to let the boys wear the belly band, but as a dog cafe owner, they should be more open about those little pee and poo around.

Food wise, not too bad. Just that i feel the Drinks are quite overpriced. one root beer float is $7. one cup of tea is $6.......... 

Overall, i will still patronize this cafe again but not on weekends i guess.. the roads there are too overcrowding with cars!

Bishan Dog Run

Dear Diary,

the last weekend we went to the dog run at Bishan park. We met up with Minnie and Mikey the Chihuahua.
It has been a while since i last went to Bishan park. Bishan park is like a neighbourhood park to me as its very near to where i stay. Usually on Sundays, a lot of families will be there, having picnic, fly kite or bringing their dog to the dog run. the dog run is most crowded on the weekends.
The dog run is divided into 2,  the Big dogs area and the Small dogs area. I wouldn't compliment the dog run as its not very clean. i feel that there are quite a handful of irresponsible owners not picking up or cleaning up after their dogs. there are many bad incidents or fights in the park as well due to irresponsible owners.

There is a nearby cafe, Canopy, and its dog friendly. I don't have good reviews for Canopy after they renovated. i guess its the change of management? the staff are not so good and they can be quite rude. I shall not say much in this post about the cafe. hahaha!

Dino the poor Chihuahua

Dear Diary,

Yesterday i receive a message from a friend, she told me that her friend is giving up on her Chihuahua and asked if i am interested in adopting him. She said that the owner didn't have time for him anymore. Well, i know that i can't handle 3 dogs on my own as daddy bumver is not in Singapore. So i offered my help to foster the chihuahua and help him to find a new home. At the back of my mind, i know someone who was looking for a dog to adopt. so i called my friend to check with her. Her friend has been looking for a dog to adopt for a while. i told her about Dino and they say they will drop by today to have a look.

Dino was such a good boy. When i met up to collect Dino, he was in fear. he was shaking so badly and so unsure of me. i brought him home and introduced bumbie and clover to him. he was so fearful of them. took him about 2 hours to warm up and his tail started wagging. he started to explore my house and run here and there. i had to put him in the play pan when it time for bed becuz i m not sure if he will pee and poo anywhere else. i didn't sleep well too becuz clover is not used to have another dog in the house.

In the morning, dino was so happy to see me and he wagged his tail. i was even more excited that tonight he might be adopted to a new home! I rushed home after work to feed him and bathe him. i even let him wear a pink bow for good first impression. Once the potential adopters came, they saw him and immediately willing to adopt him. i was so happy for him. i m sure he will be happier now that he have a new home and have more love and he deserve that.

This is my first time doing fostering and it feels great! a lot of job included including washing and constantly mopping the floor. handling 3 dogs is not easy. i have to give more attention to Dino as he was still new to the environment. Bumbie and clover was quite upset and jealous. overall it was a very brand new experience.

Clover's 2nd Birthday!

Dear Diary,

Clover turns 2 this year! her actual birthdate is on the 6 August. We organised a mini BBQ party for her with all her favourite friends. We ordered our BBQ food from BBQ wholesale online. we had to collect the orders from the shop itself. It was raining so heavily that day and we were so worried that it will affect our plans. Lucky our BBQ was set in the evening, if not, our plans will be drenched as it rained for the whole afternoon. The rain stopped at about 5.30pm and our BBQ party was supposed to be at 6pm. I was already late to prepare the stuffs as i was not able to reach back home on time. we went to collect the BBQ stuffs and there wasn't any shelter at the shop so all of the customers were stuck also.

Well, lucky with my aunty's help, i was able to prepare all the stuffs on time. the BBQ was held at my aunty's condo. I prepared pork patty for the furkids dinner:

Ingredients were: Minced pork, Broccoli, carrots, Rosemary. 

I spent the whole afternoon baking the cake. that is mt big master piece as this was my first attempt to bake a cake. i didn't get any recipe anywhere. just did some trials at home and some advise from friends and improvise a little to created my own ingredients. its my very own secret recipe. hahahha!!

We had a blast at the BBQ and we chatted away! its good to have the right people coming together and i really appreciate their company. THanks to all of them, clover's party was so warm. And special thanks to my Godma who cooked us noodles to add on the BBQ food. Biggest thanks to Daddy Bumver who is the sponsor of the BBQ and the Cook and our DJ. most of all, a loving daddy for my girls. He sweat so much cooking all the food and didn't eat as much and yet he still put a smile on his face and started drinking with all our friends. Everyone contributed to the event to make it so perfect!

Henderson Bridge

Dear Diary,

... continue from previous blog Happenstance cafe ...

We continued our mini outing to Henderson bridge after the rain. the floor was wet, but i really didn't want to see them unhappy. so their daddy decided to bring them somewhere new, Henderson bridge. we never been there before! Henderson bridge is a connection between 2 parks, mont faber and bukit timah hill park. there is another park connector towards hort park as well. so these 3 parks are basically connected. we didn't walk so far. We walked the bridge and just a few tracking around. walking up and down the park is really tiring. the park is full of up slopes and down slopes. very good for cardio and exercising.

we walked for abut 1 hour around and we left for the day as it was getting dark. i think the park looks scary at night thought.. hahaha. any way, here are some pictures of our adventure!

Happenstance cafe

Dear Diary,

Its clover's birthday! We wanted to bring her out for a walk in a park or maybe take some good photos. Unfortunately, it rained so heavily for the whole day. our plans were drenched. We didn't want to waste her day staying at home, so we decided to bring her to a cafe to have a bite. we chose happenstance cafe becuz of their good food. we love the food there and the ambience was good. but naturally, clover and bumbie don't really like to be in cafe though. but we really don't want to waste the day staying at home.
We reached the cafe but there wasn't much people. its a weekday though, usually weekdays the cafe is empty. but weekends they will be so packed that we need to call for reservations. we took a seat and ordered good food and chill. clover is a snappy chihuahua. she protects her pack and protects me. so its normal for her to hate cafes cuz dog always approaches whenever you order food. she hates that, a lot! thats why i hardly go to pet cafes.
while we were chilling at the cafe, came in this super young girls with their "seems super afraid" dog. clover snapped at him. i wanted to apologise until the girls scolded us, "what the f**K". i was so angry of that remark and decided not to apologise and walk off. i mean, come on! if you don't know how to be a nice owner, why border coming out? incidents like this is everywhere! if u can't handle a little snap, why border coming out at all? i did mention they are young right? so that's just a reason why i walk off. i didn't want to waste my breath on "little girls" . they seems to be from the age range from 21-23 kind? well, kinda ruined my stay at the cafe. so we left.
it was not raining any more but the floor was still so wet. it was clover's birthday after all, i didnt want to spoil her birthday.

Macritchie Reservoir

Dear Diary,

Today we decided to explore a new place. Macrichie is not a new place, its well known to most of us. But its a new place for BB and clover. there wasn't much monkeys around, in fact, we didn't see any at all. they had fun walking around and seeing new scenery, smelling new grasses. We saw a cafe too! its called, VAVA bristo cafe. We didn't try it but i called the person to check if they are dog friendly and they said that they are! but only at the outside. well, im perfectly fine with that. One day, we will try that cafe.

there are many people walking around, jogging, but there are no body cycling. hahaha so its quite safe to off leash. i didn't because there were a lot of people around taking their evening stroll. just have to be mindful of the bugs. there are many ants around and those wooden benches, some might have mites too. have to bring mosqito repellent as well, the mosqitoes are having their "buffet" on us.

Overall, its a nice place with beautiful scenery. Very spacious and the grass is green. woo hoo~
