Long Weekend at Bangkok, Thailand

Dear Diary,

i went to Bangkok for a short vacation to visit my dear Hubby. we went to many new places and stayed in a very posh hotel. this hotel cost is towards the higher end. not many of us would choose this hotel becuz most of us would rather stay in a cheap and good hotel in BAngkok as most of us know that the money could be well spent on shopping. well this time i m quite determine to feel pampered so i decided to sacrifice my shopping budget on a luxurious hotel.
We chose Hua Chang Heritage Hotel. This hotel is good and awesome! their service is excellent! their hotel lobby is so posh that you will feel like a princess. just that, one disadvantage is that, the hotel lobby has a sewage smell once in a while. but they have been trying to use lemon grass to kill the smell. this is not the hotel's fault though. right directly below, there is the "sampan" boat service to platimum mall. and the river is really smelly to begin with. But that doesnt really affect the quality of the hotel. the rooms are really posh too! the pillows are really very soft.

The Hotel Lobby

Posh ya? thats just the lobby. wait till you see the room!

The Room

Posh ya? i really love the concept of the whole hotel. This hotel also have a very good location. its just beside MBK shopping mall. one of the best hotel i stayed so far in Bangkok. i stayed in Glow and Pathuwan Princess hotel before. both hotels are equally good. just that Hua Chang Heritage Hotel have the "WOW" factor. the theme of the hotel makes it special.

Day 1 after our check in, we headed to Asiatique for shopping. i havent been to Asiatique before. i was actually feeling quite sick on the first day becuz of the plane. Asiatique consist of pubs and shopping areas. there are a lot of pubs in Asiatique with live bands. we take boat from Saphanthaksin Train station. the boat ride was free, but the waiting time is quite long. the shopping is towards the expensive side and the shop owners hardly entertain bargaining. Just have to be careful with the stuffs that you bought. The shopping area was crowded and filled with many shoppers at each store. i was accused of not paying for my item. i paid for my customised item and was told to come back to collect it in half an hour. when i got back to the shop, my item wasnt even done yet and she even accused me of not paying. we had a debate and finally she claimed that she remembered after one of their local customer helped us to speak up. that was really turned my mood off for that moment. but i shake it off, becuz there are more to shop around. After shopping, we went for some massage at somewhere nearby our hotel to end the day.

Day 2 we had breakfast in the hotel. the hotel's breakfast was so-so only. the spread was just ok, nothing special. After breakfast, we head out to Chaktuchak wholesale shopping district. anyone who visits bangkok knows of this shopping area. Cheap and good stuffs, anything you want is all here in this big humid market. be prepared to sweat and squeeze with the crowd. My main purpose in Chaktuchak is just the dog areas. Dog stuffs can be found from Land 9-Land 15. i hardly shop for clothes there becuz most of the clothes there are free sized and i prefer clothes that have sizes. not all free sized clothes suits me.
After all the dog stuffs shopping, we were tired and decided to clash to the nearest mall, JJ mall in Chaktuchak. there is nothing special in the mall, it doesnt interest me at all. just settled down to have a drink and a bite while waiting for our friends to be done with their shopping.
We headed to Chocolate Ville after Chaktuchak. we took a taxi from Chaktuchak and it cost us 260 baht. Chocolate Ville is a very nice place for photo taking. it doesnt sell chocolate though, im also not sure why is it called chocolate ville.. well, its very beautiful place to chill and dine, its liek dinning in the park. The food is not bad, not thai food though. Chocolate ville is only open from 4pm - 10pm i guess.

Day 3 we went to do some last min shopping at Terminal 21. nothing much at Terminal 21 as all their stuffs there are shopping mall prices. just to experience the theme of the shopping mall. its like an airport theme. each level has different theme and the toilets are really very clean. Then, we head to China town for our bird nest dinner. it was super yummy. not sure how much is a bowl of bird nest becuz my hubby paid for it :X

How China Town looks like

 My Bowl of Bird Nest

Since it was the last night in BKK, we decided to make the best out of it. we left China town at 10pm and headed to Rod Fai night market. Its open until 12am only. However, the rain kinda ruin the mood of both shoppers and store holders. the shops all closed early and there wasnt much people there. its known as the largest night market in Bangkok. its really very big and there were a lot of shops. we dashed and try to buy from whatever shop is still open. most of them were give slight discount, due to the rain. not much negotiation for further discount also.
The MArket looks empty due to the rain

This is my third time visiting BKK for this year. every visit i have new experiences. my main purpose is to visit my hubby and do shopping for my girls. BKK is a nice place to be!

will update more on my bkk trip again as i believe that there are many more opportunities to visit there again!

Sundate @ Bay East Garden

Dear diary,

today we went to Bay East Garden, its opposite Garden by the Bay. Super nice and peaceful and clean. The view is also awesome. I off leashed my girls to let them enjoy the walk. we had so much fun.
A first we couldnt find the place. we almost give up and wanted to just walk at Marina Barrage instead. then i said that, we always walk Marina Barrage. Since we drove all the way to town already, might as well we try to find the place. we drove for another 15 minutes and finally found the place.

Dear Diary,

i had a lot of fun during the weekends! i brought my girls to the Pet Fiesta event at 112 katong. it have been a while since there is event in a shopping mall. there were so many dogs packed in a small space in the shopping mall. so many people was attracted to my girls as they were the central of attraction. there wore a flowery dress and sat in the dog pram.

4 Chihuahua buddies in the pram! all of them are childhood buddies.

After the event, we went to east coast to have a bite. we were sooooo hungry!! we ordered pizza and chicken wings to share. i love going to this cafe in East Coast Park. It's called Full Pint cafe. Not sure if they are really consistent on their dog friendly policy as I saw "no dogs allowed" sign. But they still let us dine together with our furkids.
