Bangkok, Oct 2015

Dear Diary,

In addition to my previous post on the Bangkok dog friendly places, this post is to complete the topic of my 3 days 2 nights Bangkok trip.

I took Thai airways to Bangkok. I love Thai airways. The flight is usually smooth and they have very good service. The food served on the plane is quite yummy too! Its spacious and they have TV for us to watch. Usually people wouldn't be willing to pay this much for just a 2 hour trip. To me, it is very important to have comfort where ever i go. I have tried SIA to Bangkok before and I do not have good comments on the ride. Least i expected, my checked in luggage was broken! I also tried Jetstar and I was bored in the plane for 2 hours. I even upgraded my seat to have more leg space. With the amount i paid, i rather pay a bit more for Thai Airways.

We booked Berkeley Hotel. Its located opposite Platinum Fashion mall. I love this hotel as it is quite cosy and they room is big. The normal rooms will not have bathtubs, only the luxurious rooms. We booked the luxurious rooms to enjoy the bathtub. It only cost us about SGD90 per night. The only setback about this hotel is that, the nearest BTS station is quite far. Some people prefer to stay closer to the shopping district, whereas some others prefer to be nearer to the train stations.
Here are some of the pictures of the hotel:

The Hotel Lift Lobby. The highest floor isat 35th floor.

I stayed in Pathuwan Princess Hotel, Glow Hotel, Hua Chang Heritage Hotel, Novotel at Siam and this is the latest hotel. I love Hua Chang Heritage the best. :)

When I stay in any hotels, the hotel international buffet is a must. The buffet have wide array of spreads with yummy delights. The cost of the buffet per person is about 450 baht.

I landed at 9am in Bangkok. We went to the hotel to check in and the hotel reception did a stupid mistake repeatedly. We booked 2 rooms in total. They check us in and gave us our respective room keys. Both room keys can unlock the same room door! We went back down to tell them, end up, she deactivated the current room access and did the same mistake for the other room door. We had to go down the 3rd time to rectify the mistake. oh gosh~~

After settling down, we went for our lunch! We went to eat the famous Wanton noodle. I don't really know the exact address but i know it is located at a small alley beside Glow hotel. We also ordered additional pig leg.

4 big bowls + 1 small bowl of wanton noodle + pig leg = 700++ baht. Not cheap!
But its very yummy!

After lunch we went to buy our calling cards and head to Truelove husky cafe. (please see previous blog post. We were all so tired already but we are still trying to keep our energy high!
Another new place that we explore for desserts! we had sugar overloaded!

Karmakamet Diner

We came here for the famous cotton candy icecream!! This is so picture worthy as this is the biggest and nicest cotton candy!

Look at how big the cotton candy is!

Below, is a cup of strawberry icecream.

If have the chance, you should consider this into your bangkok itinerary!

Address30/1 Sukhumvit Soi 24 Bangkok
Nearest BTS station is Phrom Phong.
The place requires GPS to navegate. you need to enter via a small road beside Emporium Suites
Next, we went to K Village (please see previous post) and ended our first day with foot massage. It's not a particular shop to recommend but its still

Day 2, we went to Chatuchak Weekend market. That is where all the shopping starts! We walked thru doggie areas and other clothes area. Don't say I didn't warn you, chaktuchak is a very very humid place. You will not leave without sweating. But no worries! Look out for road side stores selling coconut ice cream. It will definitely cool you down!

We actually shopped till we forgotten to have our lunch! While our friends still shopping, we head back to our hotel first. On our way back, we bought our late lunch from 7 11. Their food in 7 11 is surprisingly yummy! No kidding! Not many people buy food from 7 11 on their holidays but I do! We bought tom yum, pizza sandwich, shrimp wanton soup, tang hoon noodles and all. And all these cost less than SGD 10. I'm not sure what is the exact price as we bought other stuffs too. The Tom Yum is so good!

Next, is dinner time! We went to this Japanese restaurant called Kaizen. The nearest BTS is Ratchathewi. Take the exit towards Asia Hotel and walk towards MBK that direction. Its estimated 2 min walk and the restaurant is on the right.

We order sashmi and other sushi and its really very yummy!

As usual we ended our day with massage. This time round, we went to this massage parlour called Chang. It is located directly opposite Novotel At Siam. Heard that this parlour is very well known for their leg massage. Be prepared to wait for about 1/2 hour as there are many customers due to their popularity. I don't have a picture of this place as I was enjoying the massage.

Last day and i have to prepare to go back to Singapore. I enjoyed my stay here in Bangkok and most importantly is the quality time spent with daddy bumver and our friends.

Good night!

Love,

mummy bumver.

Dog Friendly Places in Bangkok

Dear Diary,

i went to Bangkok over the weekend and went to places that i never been before. I have been going to Bangkok so often that i m quite bored. So i decided to add in some new places in the itinerary

Truelove @ Neverland cafe
I read about this cafe online and it was recommended to go for husky lovers. They have 23 huskies and some other dog breeds in the cafe. This cafe is an interactive dog cafe. I paid the entrance fee of 350baht per person to enter the cafe. It comes with a drink and a slice of cake. Its quite worth it as the cake was quite yummy.
The visiting hours are as per below:

We were slightly late, so we sat there and waited for the next visiting hour. We ordered our drinks and cake:

There are normal cakes or ice cream cake to choose from. The Cake is nice, I personally love the ice cream cake. There are many tourist in the cafe as well.
We were quite hungry and we also need to eat to pass time! So we ordered 2 main dishes to share.

Spicy sausage pasta

Thai Chicken Thigh rice

We love the food and it is really yummy!

Finally the time has arrived for the interaction! These are the pictures I took. The huskies are tame, but i wouldn't say they are friendly. They are so on their own and they don't really like to take pictures. They don't play with us or try to interact with us. Most of the time the visitors are chasing them around to take pictures. It was so hard to take picture with them! The caretaker have to help us "catch" one of od the huskies and made him stay to take a picture with us.
Manage to take a few shots. enjoy!

This is one of the best moment. After the interaction session is over, the huskies will run all together back into their rooms for their meals and have a short break before the next interaction. My camera couldn't capture a clear shot cuz the huskies were running too fast!

Some souvenirs sold in the cafe.

Address: 153 Paholyothin Soi Ari, Samphan 2, Bangkok, Thailand.

We took a cab there as this place is not near the nearest BTS. The nearest station is Ari or Sanam Pao. I suggest taking a cab or a tuk tuk from any of these 2 BTS. When leaving the place, the cafe person will call a tuk tuk to send you out the the nearest BTS. It will only cost you about 40 baht for the ride.

K Village Shopping mall

This is a Dog friendly shopping mall. I wanted to visit this mall as this is the only mall that is dog friendly in BKK. I read that there are quite a few doggie stores there as well. Its different from the other shopping malls in the main district. Well, its worth it to try something new!
In this mall, there are quite a handful of people shopping with their dogs! The restaurants there have unique themes. Not sure if it is nice as we didn't eat there. We were quite full from our snack so we didn't have dinner there.

Shop owner and their doggie

for kuma fans!

One of the doggies we saw shopping

there are quite a number of pet stores here but i purchased dog stairs from this store. The shop owner is awesome and gave me some freebies for buying the stairs. she is friendly and helpful. The shop owner is a Taiwanese that speaks super fluent Thai.

There is also a pet store directly outside the shopping mall. This pet store stands alone and it is lovely. Most importantly, they have a Chihuahua!

This store sells a few lovely collars, beds, treats and more!

The shop's chihuahua. Super friendly girl!

Address: 93,95 Sukhumvit 26, klongtoey, behind BigC Rama IV, Bangkok 10110.

We took a cab from Phrom Phong BTS station as we don't really know  how to walk to the place. From the map, Phrom Phong is the nearest BTS station to K Village.

These are the 2 new places i discovered in BKK. New experience for us to see a different side of BKK other than just shopping. For dog lovers, may consider to visit these places in BKK!

As you notice that most of the time we travel by BTS and taxi. Just a small advise, taking taxi in BKK have to be very careful as during peak hours, the taxi drivers will charge you more expensive and refuse to turn on their meter. So before boarding the taxi, best to check with the driver if he is charging by meter or flat rate. Taxi there is quite affordable and if you are lazy to walk, it's good to take a taxi. Haha! But for some areas and certain timings, have to avoid taking a taxi. From my experience, Siam area is always jam and their jamming peak hours starts from about 3 pm to about 8 pm? Especially the roads towards Platinum Fashion Mall.

Hope you enjoy reading and happy planning your trip to BKK! I will post on the hotel and other stuffs in the next blog post. :)

Love,

Bumver mummy

Sunday without the haze!

Dear Diary,

As you know, now is the hazy season. We take any opportunity to go out for a walk. who knows when will the haze be back?

We love to walk at Sengkang Riverside Park.i post about this park before. Its big and spacious, and not many people around in the afternoon too. It will get slightly crowded closer to the evening.

We met with our friend, Minnie and Mikey the chihuahuas. They are like brothers and sisters to bb and Clover because bb and Clover is used to go over to their place for staycation very often. I love them as much as mine. Even though, Minnie and Clover has their differences, but they look out for each other like sisters too!

The sun was really very hot (no joke!) even at 3-4pm! We found a mini shaded area to chill by the riverside. We met a group of people taking their wedding photoshoot. They asked if they can borrow our furkids for their photoshoot. Without hesitation, we agreed! it was an honor to be part of their photos.

We do not know who are they, but i hope we have fate to meet again!

After the photo taking, i proceeded to have mine photoshoot with our furkids. i wanted to have a little photoshoot with minnie and mikey for quite sometime. I choose this place becuz the park is big and green. Offleash photos are so much nicer as the furkids will look free and their expressions will be flawless!

i always believe, trust is love. To have trust in our furkids, they will feel happier. Of cuz, when offleash,we cannot be complacent and believe that our furkids will come back. We have to be alert and all eyes on them. Phones and IPads or any electronic devices are not advised to be used. 1 second is enough to cause tragic.

Then next question, you may think, if tragic will happen, why let them offleash? Trust work both ways. Our furkids trust that we will look out for them. We trust our furkids will not run away. There goes a saying, when there is no trust, there is no relationship. And of cuz, train your furkids well before you decide to train them offleash. If you think that they are not ready, then don't.

I prefer open field than dog runs. Dog runs are caged to enclosed area. Sometimes Bb and Clover don't feel comfortable when there are other dogs all together in the enclosed area.

When i was training Bb and Clover, Bumver daddy will always be there to get ready to chase if they would run away or any other incident that may happen. Trust me, Bumver daddy did a lot of running chasing after them.

Minnie and Mikey are naturals. honestly, i was inspired by yuki to train my girls to be offleash. I learn that they are happier that way. But of cuz if your furkid has aggression, best to solve the aggression issue first before trying offleash.

Back to the photos. Let me share some nice photos i took!

This is Mikey.

Bb enjoying chasing the wind!

This is Minnie!

Minnie walking towards me.
