Pet Expo 2016

Dear Diary,

Its the time of the year for Pet's Expo. Its always held every once a year! Its usually a 3 days worth full of events! Many vendors will put up their items for the best promotions! We just have the pay the entrance fee of $4 per person. Its at Expo Hall 7, The Max Pavilion.

This time round, we went there on the first day of the event. After all, it was a Good Friday public holiday. There were a lot of people in the event. The most exciting part is that i will get to see all different breeds of dog everywhere! I was busy taking pictures of all different kinds of dogs! I put the girls in the pram so that it will be easier for us to walk. The girls are too small, im afraid they might get stepped on. Bb was so happy and excited, whereas our dear clover doesn't like the crowd. She barks at anyone and everyone. (thats embarrassing) but its just her. haha!

interesting layout!

The cat section!

We started shopping and exploring around the event. We saw a few friends around too! The promotions there are very generous! everywhere is having "buy 2 free 1" or "buy 5 free 6" those kind of promotions are so attractive! Unfortunately i had all i need and i didn't manage to make use of those promotions. I only bought 2 packets of Primal, Venison as that is Bb's all time favourite food.
Its very rare to see Primal selling Venison so i bought it even though i have supplies at home already.
I also bought new freeze dried brand called Sojo. It looks quite yummy therefore shall let the girls have some to try.

Here are the pictures i took during the event:

Some people will go for all 3 days for the events and all. but we will only go there for 1 day only. haha. hope you guys have fun at the expo!

Thanks for reading!

The Bliss @ Cheng San CC

Dear Diary,

We came across another pet friendly environment for dinner!

The Bliss @ Cheng San CC. I read online and saw there were good reviews and the environment seems to look quite cosy. We decided to give this place a try! The menu looks quite good and they seem to have many choices.

We reached there at about 8.30 pm. We realised the alcohols there are priced quite low. We didn't try the alcohol as we were not in the mood for it for the day. Haha! We were seated outdoor ares we have fur kids with us and they tried to locate us to a corner seat.

We placed our orders and here are the pictures:

Prawn aglio Olio

Chicken chop with chili crab sauce

Pork chop with miso Mayo sauce

Seafood pasta with chili crab sauce.

All pictures were taken with my mobile phone. So the resolution is not really good.

Honestly, the food was so-so only. The taste was quite flat and not much. We just like the ambience and the environment. Cool, chill and relaxing. At least I found a new dog friendly cafe to hang out with my girls. The waiters there are also quite approachable and friendly. Maybe the next time round I will just go back for the drinks.

Address:
Cheng san community centre

Food for thought at Botanical Gardens

Dear Diary,

This weekend both bumver Mummy and daddy are busy with the search of our bridal package for our wedding day. So, bumbie and clover have the opportunity to follow us around. Finally we came to Feline bridal on our friend's recommendation. We were very satisfied with their service and were convinced that the price was good. So we signed and paid for it. Anyone looking for any bridal packages for photoshoot and actual day wedding dresses package, let me know. I can refer you in for good prices!

Anyway, Botanical Garden was just nearby. so we decided to bring the for some walk. There is also this Cafe: Food for Thought. It's dog friendly at the outside. so we had late lunch there.

The food we ordered:

I think the food is just ok. The environment is only nice in the inside. The outdoor is not so impressive. Then, we went for a short . There are a lot of mozzies..... Lucky we have our insect repellent with us all the time.

bb is very curious looking around.

We had a great time there and enjoyed the food.
Hopefully next week we have more adventures. This year we will be quite busy with our wedding preparations and we plan to have the girls be part of our wedding! It's gonna be an exciting year. No one said it would be easy but I think we can do it!

Have a great week ahead!

The Coastal Settlement

Dear diary,

This is a late post. Last weekend, we went to The Coastal Settlement for tea time. We ordered a lot on the snack menu so that we can share and try everything. This time round i was smart enough to bring the Insect repellent. The last time I went there, I was being "attacked" by mozzies.

I love going to the coastal settlement because it isolated at a quiet cosy corner of Singapore. setting aside the busy city life, I do enjoy a little quiet and slow pace in life. What makes it perfect, it's a dog friendly cafe! The food is yummy, price is slightly steep. The theme of this cafe is quite retro. I have yet see how the cafe looks inside as i am always setted outdoors (pet friendly only outdoors). That's why insect repellent is necessary. :)

Our food is finally here! we are so excited to start eating.

Spam Fries

Mushroom Soup

Portobello Fries

Nachos Cheese

The pups were having a great time! I allowed them walk around the area so that i can take some pictures.

The previous time i came was during brunch time. There were more patrons during that time and waiting time can take quite long. which it's a good thing. Means food is yummy! I came across some reviews on food waiting time too long. The previous time the food really took quite long. But they gave us complimentary chicken wings to make up to us! we felt extremely treasured. Thumbs UP for service!

This cafe is located in Changi.
200 Netheravon Rd,
Singapore 508529

Just a few minutes down the road, you are able to reach changi beach park. I brought the girls there for a walk and enjoy the sight of planes flying by. i really enjoy these kind of lifestyle. No deadlines, no numbers, Just simple pleasure that maKes life beautiful. Most importantly, with people we love and catching up on life

Every weekend is an adventure. Thanks for the read!

New Family Member! HUGO the Guinea Pig.

Dear Diary,

We adopted a Guinea pig!
Saw this post that 4 Guinea pigs were up for adoption at the Facebook group, "Proud Owners of Guinea Pigs Singapore". I wanted to keep a Guinea pig since i was young but i kept too many pets. I had rabbits, Gerbils, a lot a lot of hamsters (they reproduce fast!), fishes, tortoise, etc. Seriously, i love animals. I didn't have the courage to own a Guinea pig until i saw the post that someone is giving up their Guinea pigs. I was thinking, since i wanted one, might as well i contribute to save 1.
Commitments and all run into my head and i finally took the courage and decided to adopt one.

The ex owner asked me a few questions and she also asked if she can come for house visit. I was actually quite turn off by the house visit thing as i feel uncomfortable allowing a stranger into my house. So i declined. Was thinking, after i declined, this adoption might be impossible already so i didn't went to think about it. Until at night the ex owner agreed that no house visit is fine. I was quite surprised though. So of cuz i went to go grab all the stuff to welcome the new member to the family!

Went to Pet Lover Center to look for stuffs for the Guinea pig, Wanted to DIY a cage for him but realized it was not possible now. More feasible to get a cage instead as i may not know how does a Guinea pig live. Spent a total of about $150 for the accessories and necessity. Cage, Food, Hay, Food bowl, Hideout (must), Hay ball, shampoo, body spray.... ok, all in.

Went to collect the Guinea pig. His ex owner named him Baby. I intended to change his name. He looked scared and he was shivering. I took him in my arms, he was shaking. He didn't trust me. The ex owner didn't gave anything, other than his medication for his foot (rash). Carried him in his empty box pass by the ex owner as she said my box that i prepared was too small. (i seriously thought that my box was perfectly fine!) but she said too small so i just took her box, He was shaking and pee-ed twice in the car. The box wasn't a steady box, so the pee leaked. Lucky Daddy Bumver was understanding enough and didn't get angry. When we reached the car park, I transferred into my box that i prepared. Seriously the size was good. Should have just use my box in the first place. O well, I brought him home and i re-named him, Hugo.

First held Hugo. He was scared

The whole process of adopting is quite saddening. Reminds me of the time when i helped to foster Dino, The Chihuahua. When i took him away from his ex owner, he shivered and he couldn't trust me but he didn't have a choice. Brought him home and he didn't know what to do! I teared seeing them being hurt. I wouldn't want to judge why they give up their furkids due to family commitments or personal reasons. No matter what, i believe that family stick together. I m not in their position and i may not know what they are going thru that the decision is to give up what they claimed they loved. It must be hard for them i guess? If i loved someone, something or anything, i will hold them tight and never let go.

Anyway, Hugo was doing fine till date he is trying his best to warm up with the girls. The girls are trying to understand him as well. After all, Hugo is another animal which bb and clover never seen before. I believe they will just get along fine. Hugo is gentle and he is very timid. He loves carrots and he can eat non stop! I did a lot of research on food and fruits that he can eat. Fed him his daily amount of veg to let him gain confidence in me.

The First introduction.

Getting comfortable

Today, their friendship grew stronger

There is still a long way to go Hugo! But don't worry, you have Bumbie and Clover as your sisters! Even though they are not the same as you but all of us share 1 similar thing, our heart beats. We don't have to be blood related to be family. Family comes in different sizes, Welcome to our Bumver family!

Love,

Mummy Bumver.
